About

Mission Statement

The Anishinaabe Speakers Circle is a community-based space dedicated to helping individuals grow their public speaking skills and storytelling abilities. Grounded in Anishinaabe values, our goal is to create a supportive environment where participants can build confidence and refine their voices in a good way, together.

“We gather to strengthen our voices, not to perfect them – but to speak in a good way, together”

Anishinaabe Speakers Circle

Group Agreements

Skill Building: We are here to grow our public speaking and storytelling skills.

Respect for Boundaries: Personal stories are welcome but should be shared with purpose and respect. This is not a space for trauma processing.

Constructive Feedback: We offer encouragement and constructive feedback to help each other grow.

Listening with Care: We listen to understand, not to fix.

Community Support: We honour each other’s time, voices, and personal boundaries.

“We honour personal stories, shared with intention. This is a space for learning and practice, not for therapy.”

Group Facilitator

Donna Michelle Anderson is an Anishinaabe communicator, facilitator, and emcee from Onigaming First Nation in Treaty #3 Territory. With a deep commitment to language revitalization and community empowerment, Donna brings warmth, clarity, and cultural grounding to every session she leads. Drawing on her background in communications and her passion for storytelling, she creates a welcoming space where participants can grow their voices, build confidence, and speak with intention. Through the Anishinaabe Speakers Circle, she supports others in finding strength and connection through words — in a good way, together.
